This position is hybrid in nature, at the manager’s discretion, requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse facility in Cranberry, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.  No relocation will be provided for this position.  We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity.
Your Day-to-Day:
The software engineer position within the Digital Design and Computer Aided Engineering team will be responsible for:
- Interfacing with product and development teams for understanding and executing the overall program vision for the WNEXUS Software Suite of Applications
- Working with Westinghouse's internal application framework tool in the development of engineering applications
- Supporting other developers in the maintenance and testing of existing applications
- Interfacing with discipline engineers to develop and execute functional requirements
- Interfacing with discipline engineers to develop scope, schedule and cost of new applications or releases of existing applications.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering. Accepted: other  Engineering or related degree with a strong background in software development
- 0-2 years software development experience
- Experience with Java and SQL/Database Design, web-programming (HTML/JavaScript/CSS), and web APIs is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Bootstrap is a plus
- Understanding of object-oriented, event-driven, and/or procedural programming paradigms is a plus
