We have an exciting opportunity for an entry level mechanical design engineer within the Systems Integration Group. Under close supervision and specific detailed instructions on routine tasks, this position assists the engineering staff in the layout, design, analysis, investigation, and resolution of routine engineering problems of limited scope. Assignments are for small projects or phase(s) of larger projects(s) and are normally outlined in terms of task related activities with detailed instructions. This position is responsible for providing technical design solutions for a range of design problems from avionics packaging to structural mounting provisions, and component assembly of products using CAD. Contributes to the completion of assigned engineering tasks. Documents findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to engineering staff. Contacts are primarily internal within the team. Â
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Applies basic technical knowledge to design, analyze, investigate and resolve assigned routine engineering problems utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
- Utilizes 3D CAD software for supporting design solutions.
- Develops aircraft integration design solutions and assigned structural mounting provisions.
- Details designs and drawings related to component assembly, structural assemblies, mechanisms, and devices.
- Generates feasibility and trade studies, develops appropriate documentation of findings and results, communicates and presents results to engineering staff.
- Collaborates with cross functional resources as required.
- Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Will assist in and verify aircraft integration or testing and validation of hardware and systems prior to aircraft integration, on-site as well as at Flight Operations facilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.  May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Aptitude for 3D CAD engineering software such as PTC CREO, Siemens NX, or Solidworks.
- Must have a basic understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow and apply basic engineering knowledge, adapt standard techniques, and utilize the required diagnostics, tools and equipment, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Must be able to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment. Good communication, computer, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other professionals, to produce appropriate documentation, and to present results to a limited internal audience.
- Must be able to work both independently and on a team.
- Able to work extended hours as required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Advanced knowledge desired.
