Chart Industries is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Fans department. The role will support Hudson Products Corporation’s Tuf-Lite axial flow fan business unit along with engineering & field support for air-cooled heat exchangers.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
Field Service Support
· Visit customer sites either individually or with field service technicians for vibration analysis, performance testing or installation support
· Develop reports based on vibration and performance data obtained from site
· Coordinate with Field Service Manager to understand and develop scope for field visit
· Research and Development:
· Support R&D for designing new products with the help of 3D modeling tools
· Independently perform strain gauge analysis for endurance & performance testing
· Execute various validation tests with the help of the field service team
· Facilitate structural R&D by implementing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for fiberglass composites (FRP) and homogeneous metals.
· Sales & Customer Support
· Help the Sales team determine appropriate fan as per the given application requirements
· Help customers to with axial fan questions related to installation, performance, etc
· Independently provide vibration troubleshooting measures to customers
· Quality:
· As projects are assigned by the Engineering Manager, work closely with Fans Quality Assurance in the design and implementation of a formal quality control program.
· As projects are assigned by the Engineering Manager, work closely with Fans Quality Assurance to provide a framework for inspections and reporting of key quality metrics
· Monitor and update engineering standards as required
· Engineering & Drafting:
· Support the Engineering department to materialize the initiative of converting the old 2D AutoCAD drawings to 3D models using Autodesk Inventor
· Help field service team to understand the data collected in the field and to formulate a report for the same
· Effectively communicate with customers in order to troubleshoot structural issues associated with their axial fans
· Coordinate with field service in order to develop a standardized inspection and reporting procedure to inspect FRP fan blades in the field
Your Education Should Be…
· Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology (Required)
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology (Preferred)

· Must pass visual examination yearly (Quality Control)
· Independent mobility throughout the plant
· Work outside for extended periods of time in the heat or cold
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
· Strong technical aptitude
· Proficient with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
· Proficient with commercial FEA tools (Preferred)
· Certified Vibration Analyst (Preferred)
· Proficient with all programs within Microsoft Office
· Organizational & Time Management skills
- Communicate and Interact in a friendly, helpful, respectful, and professional manner with customers and internal personnel
· Follow directions from a supervisor
· Work safely around equipment, tools, parts, machinery and material
· May require possible travel, domestic and internationally, up to 50% per year
