
Junior Software Test Engineer - Embedded Systems CyberSec. Release Mgmt. (CRM)
Job description
As a Junior Embedded Engineer with a focus on testing, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive test plans for embedded software and hardware components. You will work closely with both software and hardware engineering teams to ensure that our systems meet the highest performance and security standards. Additionally, you will help drive automation in testing to improve efficiency and overall product quality.
Key/Primary Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases, including automated tests, to validate the performance and security of embedded software and hardware components in Linux-based environments.
· Perform system debugging, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on embedded platforms to identify and resolve issues.
· Develop and implement testing strategies and processes for embedded systems, ensuring alignment with project goals and quality standards.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software and hardware engineers, to define testing requirements and priorities for embedded systems.
· Drive the adoption of automated testing tools and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and coverage, including tools for continuous integration.
· Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring timely communication and resolution with development teams.
· Maintain and update test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test reports, and issue tracking.
· Collaborate with teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, ensuring high-quality software and hardware integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Solid programming experience in C/C++ and Python.
- Strong understanding of embedded system principles, architecture, and testing methods.
- Experience with Linux-based environments, including familiarity with development and debugging tools such as GCC, GDB, and make.
- Understanding of embedded security concepts, including SE Linux, Trusted Applications, or other security models (a plus).
- Experience in automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Python-based testing frameworks, Jenkins).
- Ability to design and execute test plans, including functional, performance, and security tests.
- Strong debugging skills and familiarity with embedded system diagnostics tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART,CAN) and hardware interfaces.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Experience with one or more of the following industries: law enforcement, defense, intelligence community, automotive, manufacturing, software,
