Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Rockville, Maryland. As a Junior Civil Engineer, you will assist in the planning, design, and execution of various civil engineering projects, working closely with senior engineers and project managers.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering designs, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather data and assess project requirements
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis to support project designs
- Contribute to the development of project reports, cost estimates, and schedules
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met
- Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local authorities
- Participate in quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Support senior engineers in project management tasks and client communications
- Stay updated on the latest civil engineering technologies and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- 0-2 years of experience in civil engineering (entry-level position)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS software
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skill
Additional Information
Proposed Salary: $62-70k annual
Sheladia Associates, Inc. has made the best effort to accurately represent the pay range for this position, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and any applicable cost of living data relevant to the position/candidate.
