Role description:

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. The primary focus of this role will be to provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, lighting, communications, fire protection, and industrial control systems for new federal military construction, oil and gas, water, and environmental projects. This position will report to the Project Manager or Senior Engineer.

Role accountabilities:

  • Electrical design and coordination of various projects, involving industrial, municipal projects with an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment plant-related buildings, industrial facilities, and associated electrical systems, as well as the analysis of existing facilities.
  • Establish design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications.
  • Review manufacturer information to assure compliance with specifications.
  • Gradually become more involved with cost estimating, code review, field investigation, report, and memo writing and other similar electrical engineering related tasks.
  • Provide engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFI's (request for information).

Qualifications & Experience:

Desired Skills / Attributes:

  • Basic proficiency with Revit, Microstation and/or AutoCAD, specifically concerning as mentioned electrical systems for Engineering Design and Construction projects.
  • Strong educational background with relevant coursework
  • Performance-driven and client-focused with strong written/verbal communication skills and an impressive work ethic.
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams effectively to complete projects on time and on budget.
  • Willingness to be mentored by a core team of senior electrical engineers.
  • Basic understanding and proficiency with SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, and arc flash analysis. \
  • Strong baseline knowledge of National Electrical Codes (NEC) requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field of study.
  • EIT or ability to obtain EIT within one (1) year from date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding and proficiency with Revit, Microstation, AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, and arc flash analysis.
  • EIT Certification
  • Strong baseline knowledge of National Electrical Codes (NEC) requirements.
  • Prior internship experience in consulting or with oil and gas and/or Federal projects.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. The salary range for this position is $52,000 - $78,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
