Electric Boat, Department 475, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join it's team of experienced IT server engineers.  We are looking for someone who is just starting or early on in their IT career and is eager to gain Windows Server Administration experience.  The successful candidate will be expected to attend training sessions to maintain and improve skill-sets as well as cross train peers. The position provides challenging work and a means to continue gaining technical skills and broadening experience.  This role requires a basic understanding of technology including servers, networking, and client/server applications.

Department 475 is an IT department that is primarily responsible for administering and maintaining the EBLAN portion of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program Network (NNPP Net), IS #190. The NNPP Net is a classified Wide Area Network (WAN) that provides electronic data communications for NNPI up to CON-RD level.  Major functions of the NNPP Net are to provide Engineering and Design services for Naval Reactors and affiliates of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.  

Windows Server Administrator Responsibilities

  • Managing, administering, troubleshooting, and maintaining Windows Servers
  • Managing, administering, troubleshooting, and maintaining networked printers
  • Managing, administering, troubleshooting, and maintaining Commercial off the shelf (COTS) client/server applications
  • Deploying, testing, and administering security best practices
  • Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors
  • Managing user access
  • Monitoring system performance

This position is 100% on-site with no remote or hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • 0-4 years relevant experience
  • Applicant must possess, or be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • This role is 100% on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Previous experience with DoD, military, or Federal Government systems
  • One Year in an IT Support or Help Desk role
