
Electrical Engineer 1
Job description
Amentum is actively seeking a motivated entry level Electrical Engineer in the Englewood, CO office responsible for a variety of engineering tasks in the initial planning through final design for projects of limited complexity under the direct supervision of a Supervising Electrical Engineer or Design Supervisor. Â This position requires some travel to client sites for power system analysis. This position requires the use of 2D/3D modeling software to create drawings for electrical systems in government facilities. The Design Engineer interacts with other disciplines, project support groups, vendors and client representatives as appropriate on assigned projects and is responsible for initiating and developing engineering drawings through completion in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project.
Minimum Requirements
•Must have obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a 4 year ABET accredited college or university.
•Have 0 to 3 years of post-graduation professional electrical engineering experience in electrical plant layout design and details.
•Must have completed coursework in Power Systems Analysis, Power Distribution Systems, Energy and Electric Power, Renewable Energy or related power courses.
•Experience with power system modeling.
•Design & Documentation: Experienced in preparing technical reports and engineering data under professor guidance.
•Experience with fault analysis, power flow, and basic protection concepts through academic labs.
•Familiar with the concept of adherence to engineering standards and industry procedures.
•Worked as part of multidisciplinary teams on projects requiring data sharing, consistent reporting, and clear communication.
•Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills
•Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen. No dual citizens.
•Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Position may require travel.

Preferred Qualifications
•Working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD Software
•EIT Certification or a plan to receive EIT Certification before finishing school (please indicate in profile)
Compensation & Benefits
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $65k - $97k (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
