Description

MISSION

Contribute to the development of software solutions that make a positive impact on our clients and users.  

Accountabilities

Provide technical support to CAD and Detailing with MicroStation and EWS issues

Assist in coordinating handoff for drawing between Hitachi and contractors

Maintain EWS databases

Handle requests to update parts database and apparatus tabulations for projects

Manage CAD and Detailing Active Directory and folder permissions

Implement critical feature requests to EWS, including through plugins, web apps, and desktop applications

Knowledge of Hitachi's in house EWS Tool

Knowledge of cad drawings in Microstation and how they interact with Hitachi EWS tool

Demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Immediate needs:

Write unit and integration tests for C++ MicroStation plugins

Investigate and execute on converting outdated ReportViewer 15 reports to a modern technology

Performance Criteria

Expert in EWS

Excellent interpersonal skills; able to explain technical topics to nontechnical users

Efficiently deploy high-quality software

Respond to requests for technical assistance swiftly

Remain up-to-date with modern technologies

Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Ability to work in a team

Learn cad file management and Hitachi document control (INS403)

Achievement of the milestones agreed in the individual's development action plan

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

Experience with one or more programming languages

Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices

Experience with 2D CAD Software (preferably MicroStation)

Proficiency with Git

Ability to work with non-technical users to ascertain purpose of undocumented code

Desired Skills & Experience

- Proficiency in C++ and Java

- Experience with Hitachi's EWS Tool

- Experience writing plugins for MicroStation

- Proficiency in database design and management in Microsoft SQL Server

- Experience writing unit and integration tests
