About the Role
JB&B is seeking to add qualified, confident, and collaborative Engineers to our HVAC and Plumbing & Fire Protection departments in our New York office. This is an entry-level role with an anticipated start date in September 2025.
Engineers are afforded with a wide breadth of project types, varying in size, duration, and complexity and the opportunity to professionally develop through our JB&B University training program. Engineers provide our clients with exceptional service and are competent in the engineering principles and design methods and are capable in performing both technical and non-technical responsibilities including research, analysis, design, and documentation.
The ideal candidate will be driven to learn new skills and will be capable of performing technical and non-technical responsibilities including research, analysis, design and documentation. At JB&B, you will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, including Partners on our client projects.
Responsibilities
- Completes specific tasks on fit-out/base building/infrastructure upgrades; assembles riser diagrams, schedules, and floor plans.
- Assists in the planning and coordination of routing of major distribution, main equipment rooms, closets, shafts, and risers.
- Reviews shop drawings, performs site visits and punch-lists under supervision of senior team members to verify that designs are being implemented accurately.
- Designing the distribution, recirculation, and exhaust of HVAC systems in a facility, or distribution of water, gas, and waste systems in a facility.
- Designing facility/plant utilities such as chilled water, heating water, plant steam, and condensate, or laying out the sprinkler systems and performing basic calculations for pipe sizing, design densities, and pump horsepower.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 0-1 years of MEP design engineering experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Demonstrated success collaborating in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of design software tools, Revit and AutoCAD preferred.

Estimated compensation range: $79,000-$82,000 yearly salary (overtime exempt)
