We have exciting opportunities for recent graduates to join our world-class team of turbomachinery professionals as we work together to develop new product capability aimed at reducing emissions, improving efficiency, and burning low-to-zero carbon fuels. This position is part of our Technology and New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering Rotation Program within Turbomachinery Products (TMP). The Technology and NPI organization is the organization with in Solar Turbines that is innovating on the news technologies available to advance our gas turbine products. The TMP Tech  & NPI Engineering Rotation Program provides the foundation for continued growth and long-term success of both our engineers and our organization. Entry Level engineers will gain access to challenging assignments intended to generate critical business value and enable the engineer to acquire gas turbine product knowledge. These assignments across an array of diverse engineering departments will grow the Entry Level engineer’s professional network, cultivate an enterprise perspective, and maximize engagement within an organization of technical specialists. By joining this team, you will contribute to our company’s sustainability and carbon reduction efforts and you will be an important part of our innovative solutions.
This comprehensive program is uniquely tailored to the engineer’s proficiencies and interests in preparation of a challenging and rewarding career at Solar Turbines. Rotation programs are typically set for up to 18 months of duration and are designed to rapidly enhance your professional skillsets. Each cohort of rotation engineers form a social connection for activities and support that will last beyond the program experience. At the conclusion of the rotation program, the Entry Level engineer will join one of the Technology and NPI Engineering departments for their long-term assignment.
This rotation program is similar to the posted Entry Level TMP Engineer role in Gas Turbine Products Engineering (GTPE) organization. It is encouraged to apply to both positions for consideration within the broader TMP Entry Level rotation process, especially if you are seeking a wide range of technical options.
Each program consists of up to four (4) rotations of up to six (6) months each in departments such as (but not limited to):
- Mechanical Design
- Combustion
- Additive Manufacturing
- Heat Transfer and Secondary Flow
- Compressor Aerodynamics
- Turbine Aerodynamics
- Engine Performance
- Experimental Product Development and Test
- Condition Based Engineering
- Materials and Processes
- Aftermarket Engineering
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have obtained or will obtain a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Combustion, or other related engineering discipline.
- Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or higher.
- Less than one year of relevant industry experience.
- Technical knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
- Must be able and eager to relocate to San Diego, CA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities.
- Effective problem-solving skills and technical judgment.
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
- Exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous related internship or co-op experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary for this role ranges from $78,936, to $115,627. Actual salary will be based on experience. The total rewards package, beyond base salary includes:
