This position is hybrid in nature requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.  We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity.

The position is within the Plant Engineering group in the Global Engineering Services organization.  The primary roles within this group including piping & HVAC layout, seismic interaction assessments, internal/external missile assessments, fuel handling and material handling equipment & tooling design, commodity clearance evaluations, flooding evaluations and other hazard protection designs.  The position provides broad-ranging experience of advanced nuclear plant designs including interfaces with systems, equipment, structures, and physical plant arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Work on teams that support the design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of large-scale nuclear and non-nuclear projects
  • Perform physical arrangement of the nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and supports using 3D design software
  • Perform hazards evaluations with state-of-the-art 3D plant models and analysis software
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and criteria documents
  • Work with the Westinghouse proprietary digital design architecture (WNEXUS) to author, review and verify engineering designs and conduct in-depth reviews of 3D model and plant designs
  • Help prepare reports to satisfy applicable regulatory, code, and/or customer contract requirements
  • Provide engineering support and problem solving to design, fabrication, and construction organizations including responding to requests for information (RFI’s), identify design changes, and address deviations by interfacing with engineers in different departments and global work locations

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • A strong motivation to pursue Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and Professional Engineering licensure (PE)
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Highly motivated with a desire to learn and continually develop. High personal investment in your development, both in terms of technical knowledge as well as leadership
  • A capability to embrace work in a highly diverse environment, with team members from different cultures and experiences in integrated global teams, respecting and leveraging each professional’s contribution
  • Ability to work effectively both remotely, from home office, as well as from customer site to support customer projects globally
